Skip was my best friend for many years, from preppy Bass Weejuns and Gant shirts in high school in Virginia to the casual shorts and flip-flops that denoted his California lifestyle. I loved his extraordinary artistry, his warmth and sensitivity, and the outrageous sense of humor that kept us laughing even after his T cells dropped him from HIV status into the AIDS zone. I still mourn him and worry about how he died alone. Skip told me once that there was a peaceful park in SF where AIDS victims were honored. I would like to send to that park a special stone with his name on it. I do not want him to be forgotten. If anyone can help me do this, please contact me. I would be grateful. Skip, you are still with me. And I will hold you in my heart until I die. And then, my friend, I will rejoice to see you again.
