Dorr Jones was an important figure in the early gay rights movement and started the Meals on Wheels program that spread across the country to help serve meals to the elderly and later those living with AIDS. He also was an early advocate of services and support for GLBT seniors, something that is still lacking in our community to this day. There is an interesting interview with Dorr from June 1981 on Randy Alfred's radio program, The Gay Life, which can be found on the GLBT History website: http://www.glbthistory.org/gaybackmachine/randyalfred.html He discusses how he got involved in the gay rights movement as well as his hopes for the future. Fascinating to hear 32 years later.
