Gasperini, Laurent

Now I am about the same age Laurent was the day we met. He asked me to tea; at first I resisted. Fortunately I relented. It was such a deeply satisfying treat to visit with him and Michel, which I had the honor and privilege of doing during the last decade-plus of their lives. We had a lot of fun together thanks to Laurent's insight and wisdom. Laurent was an 'absolutely unique' (one of his emphatic and/or hilarious phrases I can still hear in my mind), brilliant, high integrity man who made a huge contribution to me and to countless others. Both men will continue to live in my heart and are dearly missed.
