I worked with Wayne at CPMC (in-patient psychiatry)in the 1980s.

I met Wayne standing on the corner of Castro and Market Streets waiting for the bus. He drove by on his motorcycle and ordered me to hop on. He was so dashingly cute I could not resist! We went to see the film Pink Floyd's, THE WALL, stoned of course! We left early because he had other things in his mind - his bedroom in West Portal. He was most likely the guy who should have been my partner. He was fun, intelligent and oh so handsome. We clicked in everyway imagineable. He was pure sexiness. I moved away from The City in the spring of 1983, because I was afraid of the darkness engulfing all of us with the unknown illnesses and resulting deaths, that seemed to consume our lives in those wonderful yet terrible times. I kept in touch with Wayne and the last time I saw him was in Monterey, crossing a street downtown just prior to his death. I did not know how ill he was, however. He was his same flirtacious self and oh how I wished he had been alone that day I will always remember him forever! I ask myself, often, why am I still here? It is always very lonely when I let myself drift back mentally to those times and friends! I am now 62 years old. I hope there is a heaven or place in which we are going to meet again. Can't wait to see you again Wayne! I will always love you my beautiful, bright-eyed boy!
