It was my pleasure to work with Bob at Shear Delight hair salon back in the 80's. Bob was a very talented hair stylist and had a great sense of humor. I remember he styled a wig for me when I was going to a Halloween party. After he was finished, he turned me around to the mirror and told me I should walk down 24th st. to Bud's Ice cream on the corner of 24th & Castro for some Butter Brickle ice cream. I told him I'd settle for a highball and a Taryton cigaret. We had a good laugh over that. I remember seeing Bob at the City Athletic Club and he told me that he was working as a receptionist and seemed to be really happy. That was the last time I remember seeing Bob and talking with him. I could not remember Bob's last name after all the years that had passed, and yesterday I went to see the movie Nebraska which most of the movie was set in Hawthorn, Nebraska. That immediately reminded me of Bob's last name, which brought me here to find his obituary. I hope his spirit is at peace and is in a happy place.

We were roommates in the mid to late 70s. He was such a sweet man to me.

I worked with Bob at Pettit & Martin in the early '90s. He was such a sweet kind guy, and was well-liked by all. I used to do marketing mailings for the firm, and the receptionists had to do all the folding. He was always so cool about it. I remember last seeing him at one of the funerals after the 101 California Street shooting. It was such a sad time, and seeing Bob there and talking with him meant a lot to us. RIP.
