I first met Tede right after I moved to SF in 1975. My partner and I were living in a Welfare Hotel in North Beach and some where we saw a flyer for a discussion meeting and the topic was Gay Brothers and Sisters who live in Welfare Hotels Hmmmm... We went and as we stood awkwardly in the doorway of the meeting place, Tede came forward with a beaming smile and ushered us in. I fell in love with him right away. A year later, after we had returned to our collective in Arkansas, our group attended the Faggots and Class Struggle Conference in Wolf Creek, Oregon. There was Tede again. We were given the keys to another collectives SF apartment where our group stayed for a couple of weeks. What a high time. I remember deep dish circles with Tede and other legendary faeries. One night while walking somewhere in the Mission, we found an abandoned baby carriage. tede squeesed himself into it and we pushed him as fast as we could go down the street, screaming like banshees. The energy between us all was just electric. Tede you were my hero and I love you dearly. Micheal Oglesby
