Banks, Frank

I will always remember those wonderful evenings at The Mint -a packed house all celebrating with Frankie as he told jokes, sang, and played the piano beautifully. Very special memories for a very special man.

I met Frank while he was playing at JJ's. He had known my then partner, Brad, and took me in no questions. We used to go sing with him when he played at the Sausalito Inn as well. One night he was left without a ride so the three of us piled into my Red Fiero. Luckily both Frank and I were shorter and slender so it wasn't too bad riding back to the City on his lap and spending a couple hours talking, playing music and a little singing. He had an arraignment for Birth of the Blues that I loved to sing but have yet to find. BTW Frank, I was the lesbiansinging Castle in the Clouds and Cabaret.
