Attilio taught me more about love, friendship, acceptance, and tolerance than anyone else in my life, before or since. Even thought he could not embrace me the way I embraced him, he never rejected me or devalued my affection. It was a tremendous privilege to know him and spend time with him. Now, 25 years after his passing, I still find value every day in considering his approach to life and appreciation for people and opportunities.
