Nungesser, Lonnie Gene

Lon Nungesser was born on May 30, 1953 and died at age 39. Like many other gay men coping with the early AIDS epidemic, I read Epidemic of Courage: Facing AIDS in America. The book, published in 1986, included Lon's interviews with three articulate gay men who died of AIDS: Dan Turner, Bobby Reynolds and Mark Wood (all of whom have B.A.R. obituaries). Bobby Reynolds and Mark Wood were life partners. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to get a better understanding of people's lives during the early, ever-worsening years of AIDS.
