Armin was a sweet robust handsome man who i looked up to as my wise elder. I met him at a Shanti volunteer workshop and we joked that we had both felt we met years before and couldn't remember. He offered to train me in real estate, he had me over for close friendly talks in his kitchen and he always spoke of his partner he loved dearly. I was shocked and bewildered when he suddenly passed away. I am fortunate to have known him and am not the least bit surprised this beautiful man was originally from New Jersey. Some of the most spectacular people i have ever met outside of NJ were from NJ. I was given a gift when i first met Armin and we connected through mere eye contact and smiles. Thank you. May you be laughing and enjoying yourself wherever you are today Armin.

I went to Lake Forest College with Armin in the mid-60s,back in the day when being out was not common because it would certainly not be supported by most. Only a few of us who were good friends with him knew and were not surprised when he immediately moved to San Francisco upon graduation. He blossomed there. I married right out of college and my husband and I spent a year in Monterey where he attended the Defense Language Institute learning Chinese before going off to Vietnam. We got to see Armin a number of times that year and he was so happy. Later, when our daughter was about 4 or 5 we were living in Chicago and took a trip to California, would have been the late 70's. He gifted my daughter with a beautiful doll that she loved. I have such good memories of him.
