I used to work for Dr. Agues as his optical technician. He being French was a quiet, caring and thorough man. He cared deeply for every single patient that came into his office. His lover, Ed was the office manager and took care of all the business ends of the Optometry practice. Ken was a kind man and after Ed passed, he found a new Husband. They both joined the Foggy City Dancers, a GLBT... square dance club, where they were inseparable. The always danced together like a couple in love. It was a very short time later that Ken passed. I was pleased to see that Ken was able to have a very joyful time near the end dancing with his Husband. I was honored to see my Boss enjoy himself. Near the end of it all, Ken searched diligently to find an O.D. that would be able to take over his practice with the same care that he showed for his patients. He found Dr. Kathleen Kennedy and I am pleased that she took on his shingle. She mirrors his style and care. She still has her office in the original suit and has expanded it similar to what Ken and Ed wanted to do. Unfortunately, enough time was not available to either man.
