McSweeney, Mark A

Michael T. Roper memorialized Mark McSweeney in his book, Memories of My Gay Brothers (2000).

Dan was a beautiful man, a lover of classical music and a gentle soul. I think of him and miss him.

I went to High School with Mark in Arizona. We graduated in 1968 and I never saw him again. I remember him as one of the nicest boys in our class. At school dances he always made sure to dance with all the girls so no one was left out. He was smart and funny and talented. He was the president of the Thespian, served as class publicity chair and performed in several plays including Barefoot in the Park. He was a great guy and someone always asked about him at our class reunions.
