Westbrook, Lee

Lee was a member of the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus from February, 1984 until February, 1990 for a total of 11 concert seasons. He last sang as a member of the First Tenor section. Lee wanted to leave a lasting legacy to the Chorus, but was not a man of means. He had a small life insurance policy which he left to the group, designating the annual income toward the further education of the Chorus artistic director. I was happy to sing alongside Lee. The Chorus refers to these members who are no longer able to sing with the group as members of the "Fifth Section." Lee Westbrook, who I knew but nominally 25 years ago, but who I much respected as a committed, compassionate brother within SFGMC.
