O'Connor, Thomas Emmett

Tom was a wonderful man, one of the early wave of HIV patients. He and so many other gay men were abandoned by the U.S. public health service so they began to seek their own treatments. Tom was a pioneer in this field and lived far beyond his expected survival time. He wrote a book Living with AIDS: Reaching Out it would be a fascinating historic text to show how the community was grasping for effective solutions to this plague.
