I had always wondered what became of Curt; if he had made through the storm that claimed so many of the names and faces from my past. I am so saddened to learn that Curt was among them. There have only been a handful of people that I have run across in my wanderings that could make me laugh as hard as Curtis could. I remember having lunch with him on Maiden lane on beautiful afternoon. We were standing in line at a deli and the young woman behind the counter looked up towards where we were standing, smiled broadly and exclaimed Hi Mary!! Obviously she was addressing someone behind us but Curt didn't miss a beat and with the same over enthusiastic zeal displayed by the counter girl, raised his arm up over his head and waved back, HI!!! I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe and there is no better way to suffocate than to do so paralyzed with laughter and tears running down your cheeks. His campy quick wit, handsome face and muscular form made him an exceptional find as a friend or a lover and I can never visit the Russian River without fondly remembering our times there. You will always have a special place in my heart, Curt. Sleep Well.
