Salsbury, David

I met David in London (UK) in 1975 and visited him in 1978 and 1979 in San Francisco.We fell out of touch in the 80's and while I knew he had died, today is the first time I've discovered his obituary and now know the date.I remember him with great fondness.

I knew David from the bridge table. He and his bridge partner and my bridge partner and I would play team games traveling to local tournaments. Later I went with him to Maui to help him take his lover's ashes there. We made the long drive out to Hana and had to stop at every waterfall if there was a pool there where he could swim. He was a lovely sweet man. I inherited his Encyclopedia Britannica, a useless reference these days with the advent of the Internet. David did not live long enough to appreciate that innovation but would have reveled in it.
