Rick was one of the most meaningful people in my life. I knew him when he still lived in Sacramento. Years later when the quilt was in town I saw Rick's panel. I have never really recovered. I wish I could have known him during his illness and helped him. He was a loving, gorgeous man with a deliciously wicked sense of humor. Most of all, he was kind. I still make his famous artichoke fratatta. Rick was a hunk before people were hunks, and yet he was down to earth, and a wonderful puppy dog at heart. I will miss him always and be thankful for a profound life lesson he taught me.
