Stan and I went to graduate school together at San Francisco State, studying Social Work. We were both very young - Stan had moved to SF from Lemoore, CA to go to school. Stan was my first gay friend. He had an infectious laugh, a kind spirit a huge heart. He was passionate about social justice and social work. Even though you've been gone for 30 years, I think of you often, dear Stan. Thank you for being the best gay friend a man could ever have. You are always in my heart. Joe Headlee

Stan was one of my best friends. He and I had known each other since the 3rd grade. We lived as roommates and neighbors all through college and he made his way to S.F. about a year after I did. There was a whole group of us that went to High School and College together that remained friends all up until their deaths from AIDS. Stanley was a true friend. A great guy and I miss him so much.

I always wondered what happened to my friend Stan. He was my friend in undergraduate social welfare program at Fresno State. We worked together so well in class and shared many projects together. I always admired his strong passion for the rights of others and social justice. Im sorry to find out he died so young. He had so much more to give and strive towards. Im sad to learn of his death and remember him so fondly. Would love to hear him laugh just one more time.
