Oh Fernando. What presence you had. I remember you said that you had a very good life and you would come back if you could. I shall never forget placing my hand on your beautiful hand at a time so tragic. You still welcomed love into your life right up to the end. You were one of those rare people that lit a room and turned heads because your vibrancy was so alive. Thank you.

Oh, Fernando.... I will always remember you walking the length of the Gay Pride Parade in high heels, a woman's one piece bathing suit and a picture hat to complete the outfit. You complained about your feet when it was over, but every year you rose to the occasion and walked down Market Street to cheers and cat calls. One of my treasured memories of a long lost era...
