You must've been one of the first, congratulations! They didn't know exactly what you had but you had them all. When you came back and told me "shingles" I told you that was a disease of old folks, more or less. This or that and all the various names for the disease(s) and the medical folks did not know what in the hell was going on. With my great sense of empathy told you to "just buck it up" and we laughed and went out for drinks.
Took me over to that fancy storefront over on Post with the grand doorway set in a glass facade you designed and I told you about the pain in the ass of "fatherhood." Again we laughed and you said you figured as much.
You had fun and knew almost exactly where you had picked up the disease and how. Told me so. You were a damned good sport at the Xmas party up at the end of Broadway when I gave you a pack of camels as your drafted Santa because "you just look like a smoker" and you duly wrapped up the back in your short sleeve leaving the noted guests aghast.
That photo is not exactly how you looked but what else is new?
40 years dude. McGeary was an Architect, U of Minnesota if I am not mistaken
