Noss, Gary

Gary - was a tall, handsome, rugged man from New Mexico. He was my neighbor when we both lived in Pacific Heights, SF CA. This gracious, loving man was more than that - he mentored and provided me with the courage to live an out and full life as a gay man. We had so much fun - shopping for clothes on Sutter to “up my game” at work; going to restaurants he was critiquing and teaching me about food and the business. He loaned me an expensive car to drive down 101 to visit a friend from Sharon PA who was visiting relatives. I remember the look of shock on their faces when I arrived! I attended my first opera because of and with Gary. And because we didn’t like it, and he was so real about his feelings, we left at intermission and headed for Hamburger Mary’s - a restaurant needing no additional feedback! I think of Gary to this day and miss him. Especially because I never got to say thank you and good bye dear friend. RIP Gary.
