Dear, dear Alphonse. You were so much more beautiful than you thought. I think of you often still and those crazy days at the Sausage Factory in The Castro. I recently went back to visit and your sweet funny spirit still laughs from the back bar. You are never forgotten.

What a dear man. It's true: It's impossible to re-visit the Castro and, when passing the Sausage Factory, to NOT think of Alphonse. No statue needed. Now THERE's a statement about someone.

I was in Sacred Heart Orphanage with Alphonse. We Were close friends. The Orphanage Closed and we all get separated.
