Today is Sept 25,2015 and many of the young men who died from AIDS in the 1980's are considered a thing of the past. It break's my HEART to know that many died and now there are many Life saving treatments to delay AIDS. I never met this gentleman but I lost a beloved school teacher who was Homosexual to this awful disease in 1990. I also lost many gay male friends to this in 1992-1999. I am also saddened that this much loved man, doesn't have a family member. Thanking this GLBT site for posting his obit in their data base? Well you did not die in vain and you are a hero to many. I found this site recently. I knew Dennis in High School. He was in my class. I know his cousins, but not his immediate family. I had heard he passed away several years ago and was sorry to hear about it. He was a fine young man when I knew him as a teenager. I never knew him as a man as we both moved away from our home town of Union, SC. I am the mom of 3 gay children, my two sons have passed away (one from complications from AIDS). So, I understand Dennis experiences in life and especially growing up in a small town. I pray he found peace and that he lived his life as who he authentically was. I wish I had had the opportunity to tell him that. May he Rest In Peace.
