Click the button below to add your thoughts. johnmehring@hotmail.com San Francisco 31 Dec 2017 I didn't know Gale Whittington, but I was aware that he played a role in the early gay liberation movement in San Francisco. Before he died in 2013, Gale published a book about his early-life experiences, Beyond Normal: The Birth of Gay Pride, which appeared in 2010, and is available online. Gale also has a FB page that remains online; from that one learns Gale went to high school in Denver and college in Nampa, ID. In later adulthood, Gale moved to his late parents' home in Wetumka, OK, a small town in rural Oklahoma, with a population of just over 1,200 people. Copyright © 2009.
