Tom Burtch San Francisco, CA 25 Jun 2010 Allen was a member of the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus from February, 1982 until February, 1999 for a total of 29 concert seasons. He sang as a member of the First Tenor section, and I remember him from my first rehearsal with the group in 1985, "God, is he great looking!" I thought. As the years passed, I also got to know him as a great singer and a really nice guy. The Chorus refers to these members who are no longer able to sing with the group as members of the "Fifth Section."
