Tom Burtch San Francisco, CA 28 Jun 2010 Jim was a staff member of the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus from September, 1993 until February, 1995 for a total of 4 concert seasons. As mentioned, Jim was an unbelievable artist and carpenter for the Chorus. He designed and painted huge backdrops used in the 1994 concert, "Swellegant Elegance," at the San Francisco Opera House and constructed ten-tiered risers what were rock solid for our performances in Masonic Auditorium. The Chorus refers to these members who are no longer able to sing with the group as members of the "Fifth Section."
