Albert was a member of the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus from April, 1979 until October, 1985 for a total of 21 concert seasons. He also participated in the historic 1981 National Tour of nine cities in the United States. The tour is credited with being the creative force behind the formation of the Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses which as of 2010 has more than 170 member choruses with over 7,000 singers worldwide. He last sang as a member of the Second Tenor section. The Chorus refers to these members who are no longer able to sing with the group as members of the "Fifth Section." They are listed Chorus programs and on the group's website: https://www.sfgmc.org/about_fifth.shtml

Albert Jones 04/12/1951-06/20/1987 April 12, 2021 would have been his 70th birthday. His last birthday on earth was his 36th. I was with him on his birthday in 1987 with our mother and sister Toni - he was inpatient at Childrens Hospital in San Francisco. I have missed him every day he’s been gone. My heart aches that most of “my people” never knew him, never met him. However, they all know how broken my heart is over losing my brother. 💔 If you remember him or If you have a story about him, tell me, share it! Grief is a terrible, horrific experience. Grief never goes away. Grief changes over time. Grief can overcome you with a date on the calendar, a song, a smell, an article of clothing, a memory, a million little things. #grief #brother
