Doug was a member of the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus from April, 1979 until April, 1981 for a total of 9 concert seasons. He last sang as a member of the Bass section. The Chorus refers to these members who are no longer able to sing with the group as members of the "Fifth Section." Doug was one of my room-mates when first I arrived in SF. He shared an interest with me in film-making. I have recently completed the documentary film The Pleasants Effect (https://pleasatseffect.net) Doug was the cinematographer on this project. His enthusiasm, professionalism, sense of humor and humanity helped make the film what is is.
